A Box Full of Hopes and Dreams

I know you are all excited to hear about my adventures with Cindy this weekend!
All I can say right now (due to tiredness, and this blasted tooth-yes...still an issue!) is..

*deer in headlights*

I've been left speechless by the women that I met this week.
I've been left speechless by the person that is Cindy of Cottage Instincts.

Never before have I been in a room full of more generous, gracious,
stylish, lovely, brave, inspiring women.
I'm so inspired!

I'll probably be spending the better part of this week sharing tidbits of it all, bit by bit.
Cindy is also sharing some on her blog too.

Today I just wanted to show you this.
Baby chicks.
My darling neighbor Danielle just got a box of 25 in the mail last week.
Help me Rhonda, look at that little one looking right at the camera.

It's going to be almost impossible not to get more babies this spring.
Seeing a box full of baby chickens reminds me so much of life.

New life.
New hopes.
New dreams.
New inspirations and aspirations.

We need to nurture our hopes and dreams.
Sometimes they need to be put under a heat lamp and carefully monitored.

Oftentimes, they need to be singled out and focused upon individually.

Sadly, sometimes despite our best efforts, tragic things happen.
The raccoons and hawks of life steal our dreams.
Sometimes our hopes vanish without a trace.

Thankfully, sometimes they grow to be what they were meant to be.

Spring is coming.
I pray that you nurture your hopes and dreams.
I hope that you find people and places that inspire you.

I really hope you get some baby chickens. :-D

  4. Man, that toothache needs to just go away! Sorry baby about your pain...but sounds like you did an awesome job entertaining Cindy. You are so precious! I loved the pics, and the updates...and can't wait to hear more as the week unfolds. I look forward each day to your update. Hope you feel better soon. Happy Valentine's Day to one gal who has a HUGE heart! I told Cindy, I think it's time we move to IN to be near all of you fun people! (But, I don't think I want to adopt any chickens. ha. been there, done that!)

  5. Those little yellow chicks are adorable. I want to hold them and kiss their soft feathers.

Wow, can't wait to hear about the weekend with all those women. Wish I was there with you all.

    Happy Valentine's day.

  6. Hello, Jayme...
I've followed you for a short while now and have yet to comment. But how can anyone resist those cute little fuzzballs! We started our chicken adventure last spring but bought our chicks locally. I want to try some other breeds and have thought about mail order. Have you had much luck with mail order? I think it would be hard on the chicks but so many people do it, so I guess it's okay.

    I enjoy your blog.

  8. OH my goodness.. I've just gone and named 6 of your baby chicks there!!

Phyliss is the one closes to the camera and directly behind her is Randolf. The wee one looking at the camera showing 2 eyeballs is Twilia.. to her left or our right would be Olga. The 'beached' out front right is Truman.

I love love love wee chicks. Yes, new dreams, hopes, wishes and life.

Thanks for sharing some of yours.

    with love and valentine wishes,
    Olivia

  9. I so wish there were some chicks in my immediate future...someday, soon I hope.

I'm so glad to hear you had a great time and I'm looking forward to your posts about it.

Are you going skiing tomorrow? I'm so excited that somebody gets to ski, I hope you do and have fun!

I did forget the falling down part, I do that a lot too but that minute or two when you glide along effortlessly makes it all worth while. : )

    Bee well!

  10. Love the chicks! And that middle one is adorable. Okay, so how about you have a rooster come visit for a while. Can you imagine Fifi and Helen as mama's? How fun would that be! And your poor tooth....is there light at the end of the tunnel with that? I hope you feel better soon!

  12. Home remedies for tooth aches: Garlic clove when placed on the aching tooth provides immediate relief from pain.
Clove oil to the aching tooth is best to reduce pain and also removes any kind of tooth infection.
A quarter teaspoon of the aching tooth will give relief.

Drinking heavily will also give relief.

So sorry you are still in pain. Happy you enjoyed yourself with the "blogger broads" HA! Looking forward to the posts.

I am smitten with the little chick who looked right at the camera. Maybe I will get chicks instead of baby peacocks.

  13. Me too! That is, hope there are some baby chickies in my future again :) Geez, Jayme, feel better already! I feel so badly for you. I know that doesn't help much.. but I can really feel some of your pain and hope to heck you feel so much better in the NEAR future. Hugs! -Tammy p.s. I don't know how you managed to somehow accomplish all this runnin' 'round over the weekend. You're way tougher than me! :)

  15. Jayme - So sorry to hear that tooth of yours is still giving you trouble. As for that box of baby chicks...how cute is that? I wish I could have chickens.

  16. Oh. my. goodness. those little chicks are just the cutest things. I want to have chickens so bad, but I'll have to wait until we are dog-less. Can't have another incident like the bunny massacre of 2008.
Hope your toothache will be gone soon and you'll feel better.

  19. I need some baby chicks in my life. I also need some green grass and some sun and a list a mile long of other springtime stuff. I am getting some gardening magazines this week to tide me over until Mother Nature cooperates. Hope that tooth is better this morning, poor baby!

  22. I would love to get some chicks, but we already have enough chickens. Maybe next year?

  23. When I used to pluck the day old chicks from the hatching tray, I loved best the ones with markings like a chipmunk. Oh, they were cute, but I worried about them because of the way chickens peck the ones who are different.

I'm eager to know what you are doing with your loom. I don't have room here to get all my yarn out. Next house, I hope!
