Friday Giveaway!

Happy Friday friends!

I've been so encouraged by all of your kind comments, that I wanted to do a little giveaway. Mother Plumtree (if you haven't met her yet, click here) has been busy stitching, and offered her first embroidered towel for the giveaway! I really thought Mrs. Puffington was going to have hers done, but she isn't finished yet!

It's just a little vintage style dishtowel, embroidered by a chicken.

All you need to do is leave a comment, telling me what celebrity you would like to look like. I'll announce a winner on Sunday morning. If you have trouble leaving a comment, please click on the 'Contact Me' link, and send me an email.

Here's a couple of other chicken photos from today. Aaron sure loves the girls too. He dotes on them all the time.

Fifi LeFew (click here if you've not met her yet!) started laying this week. The sweetest little blue eggs you've ever seen.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the world and reading my ramblings.

  3. I love your blog, and really enjoy all your postings...especially the ones about your chickens. I hope you don't mind, I have the photo of the chicken in the zippered outfit on my computer display. Co-workers always take a second look. As for celebrities...hmmm...I'd have to say I wouldn't mind looking like Julianna Marguilies. I've been watching her new show, and I think she's stunning.

  5. I want to look like Giada - I want to be her, I do have Italian blood in these veins. I want her house on the beach, but I'll keep my own family. I want her TV show and cook Italian foods and get paid for doing it. I love all her recipes. I want to have an enormous fan base. I want to be able to say mozzarella, spaghetti, prosciutto, ricotta, Saltimbocca like she does!!! Listen, can you hear her saying those words, I can!!!

  6. Oh my dear, thank you for letting us in your little corner of the world.

I am hooked.....my husband LOVES you. I showed him the picture with the crochet hat and scarf and he loved it, he said you made his day. We just love you.

I look forward to your blog every day.....shoot, sometimes I click on it 5 times a day thinking that maybe there will be a treat and you will have something to say.

You are so enetertaining, you are better than any celebrity, your little nephew is gorgeous, I just love him.

Who would I want to look like? Hmmmmm at the risk of sounding conceited, I like myself too much to want to look like anyone else. When I look at myself I see my family that I would give my life for. I would not change that for the world.

But.....if I can be rich like a celebrity, Bill Gates comes to mind.......wouldn't mind having all his money, all the things you can do with it, the people you can help, the organizations that i would love to donate to, Colon Cancer being on TOP of my list.

You are awesome, look how many of us you have brought here just because you are YOU.

    Don't ever change.

I would sure love to meet you. Maybe we can go to the old antique shop at the square with my sister, I love that place. When we go there we can be there for hours.

  8. Oh, the towel would look sooooo good in my chicken kitchen. And I would promise to never use it to clean up any messes. It would be for pretty purposes only.

Who would I like to look like? I can't think of any live celebrities, but if I could choose anyone I would choose Grace Kelley. She was so beautiful!

  9. Mother Plumtree did a fantastic job on that towel. I enjoyed meeting her, as well as Fifi (I used to have a fine li'l flock of Araucana chickens).

So cool that Aaron loves & spoils the chickens too!

As for the celebrity.. Marilyn Monroe, I think? At least she was a 'normal' size (not stick-thin), and yay for that! -Tammy

  10. I really don't want to look like anyone but me. I guess I'll just have to become famous!

  11. Selma Hayak is my pic, she has it all, but the cook in me says Paula Deen. She's gorgeous and has a great life. She loves her family and friends. What's better looking than that? Loved the pics, great job with the camera. I think the last is my fav. I do agree with Joy about all she said about you.
How about a celeb that we would like to look at with us? lol That would be fun, eh? gotta go hope to see u soon. Me

  13. Like many others who comment on your blog~I agree that you are the greatest. Love the towel. Love photos of handsome Aaron. And, ohmy, your yard is beautiful.

For me it is: Mother Teresa!

    Have a fun weekend.

  14. What celebrity would I want to look like? Can I choose none of them? I always wanted straight beautiful blonde hair like my friend Connie-she's always wanted my ugly brown curly hair! At this point in my like, I'd rather stick with what I know; even though that means a back that went out today and hurts like the dickens now!

Please tell Mother Plumtree that she did a fabulous job on her towel! And stop by my blog tomorrow-I'm doing a giveaway too!

  15. Post a picture of the blue eggs. I would love to see them.

    ReplyDelete
  16. We have a couple of Aracaunas in our mix also! It is so fun to go out and gather up blue eggs!
Hmm...now which celebrity?....not sure, but it would be someone tall and thin...the opposite of me!

  17. Wow, which celebrity would I want to look like? That's a hard one... I have always liked Jamie Lee Curtis. She's spunky, funny and she's aging very gracefully. I'm not into "fake and enhanced"...

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think I would like to look like Kathryn Hepburn, as I am over 50, and she aged so beautifully!
    Love me some chickens!

  19. A towel embroidered by a chicken? I'm sorry, but who in their right mind wouldn't want that? I was tempted to not post my comment yet as I noticed I am #20 and even numbers like that never win. Maybe if I take long enough to type this comment someone else will be comment #20. So. The celebrity I would most want to look like. That's tough. I'd say Julia Roberts but since my hubby doesn't find her the least bit attractive I think I will go with Jennifer Garner. I love her combo of girl next door meets sexy. Oh or wait! Meg Ryan. Not current Meg Ryan but before you discovered a love for bad plastic surgery. So like You've Got Mail Meg Ryan.

  20. I'm thinking Groucho Marx. ooo what a hottie

  21. Clara Bow, at her most luminous. I want those big pouty lips, those eyes on the verge of tears, that impish grin!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm just LOVING all of your comments! Keep 'em coming! Guess you'd like to know who I would like to look like if I could choose? Hmmm....well, I'm hoping I can age well and look like Diane Keaton....but for RIGHT NOW..I would LOVE to look like the Meg Ryan from ....I can't think of the name of the movie...the one with Tom Hanks (of course) where she owns the little book store. Or Marilyn Monroe, or about a hundred other women. I'm so pleased to see that some of you have such wonderful self esteem and would like to keep your own looks! Good for you. I suffer from a terrible case of discontent when it comes to my appearance.....

  23. Hmmm....I like being "not famous" and sure wouldn't want to change but I'd love to have Meg Ryan's hair.

Thanks for all the work you put into your blog. It keeps me smiling.

  24. I stumbled upon your site a few days ago and I'm hooked! My best friend and I are wanna be farm girls. She just got the coolest polish chicken and 2 goats, and I must say I'm a bit jealous. I can't wait to move out into the country a bit and have some of my own. As well and we knit together, cook, and wanted to get our husbands to make us a box so we can get bees. I look forward to trying out some of your recipes.

As far as famous people, I think I'd like to look like Veronica Lake from back in the day. That was such a classy era.

  25. Jayme..you are beautiful..and so is everyone that wrote here..I love all of you. You are all the best...some of you made me smile; ))). Thank you . I needed a smile today.

My little sister is fighting stage 4 colon cancer and she is my beautiful little hero, but I am a basket case right now, she had the cat scan done on Thursday and Monday we get ther results...please everyone if you can find it in your heart say a little prayer for her....she is the most beautiful, the most amazing girl in the world and I love her so much I would give my life for her. The first doctor that she went to told her she had 6 weeks to live (God forbid), they are calling her a miracle girl, but I would really love her to have a miracle and beat this cancer.

Life is way too short, and I am so glad to have found all of you beautiful people on Jaymes blog.

  28. Mirjana...I just wanted you to know that I will indeed keep your sister in my prayers. My oldest sister beat colon cancer, and she is indeed a miracle. I pray the same for your sister.

  29. OMG Jayme, that is the most beautiful news in the world. I can't wait to tell my little sister.

Now I love you even more.

Thank you for this good news.

  30. I hate cancer, and my family is not putting up with it anymore.
My sister beat it through listening to Andrew Wommack's teaching, my husband is going to beat it too, just through faith in what Jesus already did for him.
By his stripes you ARE healed, just recieve it!
I just saw a posting on facebook of a young mother of seven children who is celebrating 18 cancer free years after being given one year to live by the doctors!
