Think About It Thursday

I really must say I felt like $675,000 yesterday with my vintage coat and messy updo.
I loved hearing the sound of my heels clicking around the house while I was getting ready to go.

The play was -
let's say -
'interesting'
Another Night Before Christmas

I felt dozy during the first half - and then the second half grabbed me by the throat and choked me up some.
I may or may not believe in Santa Claus all over again.
I'm leaning toward believing.

I do believe I was the only one in attendance with fertile eggs in me ovaries.

I didn't realize what a Senior past time afternoon musicals were.

So today finds me all dark and twisty inside.

Christmas is in 24 days and the pilgrims are still lit on my porch.
Mummified pumpkins are sitting about.
I've got no gumption to change it.
I'm planning on making all my gifts - so it will be a Christmas miracle in and of itself if anyone receives anything.
I have over 50 boxes to get to the post office this week - and I can't thank you enough for your generosity and kindness towards me!

I, me, mine.
I feel self-centered.

I'm just in a thinkin' kinda mood.

I'm thinkin' how perfectly imperfect we all are -
and I'm trying to embrace my weaknesses and give myself a pat on the back for my strengths.

I'm tryin' to learn to love the new thinner Jayme that seems boring to me at times.

I'm trying to forgive the still food addicted Jayme that hides in the pantry and eats a half a bag of marshmallows as fast as she can in secret at times.

I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that the skin on my face seems so much looser now and how my eyelids move around so much it's hard to put on eyeshadow.
I'm aging.
It's happening right before my loose eyelids - and there's not a thing I can do about it.

I'm trying to stop time and spend mine wisely from here on out.
I'm a regular time miser lately.

I'm trying to tell my mind what it's allowed to think - instead of letting it tell me how to feel.

I'm trying not to try so hard.

Law.

I haven't vacuumed in four days.
I'm glad you were sitting down for that one.

Let the record show that losing over 100lbs will rock your world in ways you weren't prepared for it to.

But guess what?
My world needed a little rocking.
Maybe yours does too.

Never give up.
Never give in.
Never stop believing.

Would a disco ball be as sparkly if it were one solid sheet of mirror?
I think not.
Bust up that mirror - glue it back together -
and now you got yourself a party.

Party on imperfect peeps.
Party on.

  1. You sound as confused about yourself as Betty Draper. LOL Saggy skin? Not moi. Maybe you should put a stripper pole in your house and just forget about vacuuming entirely.. That's what I did.. LOL NOT....

  2. I'm partying on, believe me...flat on my back (alone), typing this comment! This will be my 3rd Christmas without my husband, it's difficult to do Christmas knowing he won't be here to share! I'm doing my best though just as you're doing, adjusting, changing...breathing! I've almost finished vacuuming AFTER...wait for it...wait for it...a month or more! Baron doesn't mind and sometimes neither do I...when I do mind I haul the monster out and suck it up!

  3. 1. I hope my Christmas gift was number 1 on that list, so there'll be hope.

    2. I don't care if you haven't ran the vaccum, I am refusing to clean the window panes until the 23rd.

    3. I love thee.

  4. You are human!! I wish we were neighbors because I have a feeling we would laugh till we almost peed our pants. I look forward to your writings so much. God Bless you.

  5. I wanted to let you know I am feeling the same way about the Thanksgiving - christmas trasition. Hesitant and a bit overwhelmed. There are so many things about this post today that I loved and that moved me, I'll try and share them all. I think it's hilarious about the vacuuming! No judgment here, don't worry! I also lost a lot of weight a few years ago, then I had a baby, and I'm over 200 again. It's so easy to gain it back, because that is the body I was used to, The saggy skinned, skinny body, takes some getting used to. Please keep sharing your adjustments to this new body. I really can relate, and need your help as I strive to get back to my healthy weight. Knowing it will feel strange and, to be honest, I felt less attractive, because of all the loose skin. So thank you for sharing, it helps me.

  7. I knew there was a reason to stop here this morning... I've missed 7 of your posts! How did this happen? I so enjoyed reading about what you've been up to. And now I'm wishing even more that I lived near you. Things I'm loving: Betty Draper coat, updo, apron. You dear girl are anything but boring!

  8. Oh, great writing! Love the mirror ball metaphor!

  9. Actually...is it a metaphor or an analogy? I get so confused.

  13. when my face was all skinny and saggy, I used blush to draw on cheeks. They are a bit plumper right now. The picture of you hiding in the pantry scarfing marshmallows made me smile.

  14. This saggy baggy old heifer loves your writing. Marshmallows in the pantry, I get. Works in progress is better than no work at all. Love ya friend. I miss ye and your wisdoms. I need some campfire time with ya! I know a great place to have one ;)

  15. Betty Draper. I've just started watching Season 2 on Netflix. Can you tell me: does she get more interesting? The Betty Draper I know could never write a post like this.

I put away my 6 jack-o-lanterns, yesterday, and set up 4-ft.-tall blow mold Santa in their place, which is the hearth in the living room of my log cabin. But the mantle and porch are still decked out in all things halloween.

  16. Love that disco ball analogy. Very deep and sparkly all at the same time!

  17. You always give me something to think on...to mull over while I'm doing things here around the house. Today it is "I'm trying not to try so hard." I actually do have to practice that one on a regular basis.

It is hard for me to imagine you going for 4 whole days without vacuuming! I used the steam vac on our living room carpet yesterday. As I was emptying the collecting container when I finished, I thought to myself, 'I know Jayme would never have such horribly dirty water as this because she vacuums so often!' Had I been told this bit of info yesterday I wouldn't have felt nearly as dreadful! lol

  19. Rock on sista! I think the stripper pole above is a good idea!!

  20. Am I supposed to vacuum more than every 4 days? ;)

you're a sparkle in our lives....Ain't that grand?!

  21. You are doing okay, Jayme. You're just starting to make peace with the person that was hidden inside you all that time. Change is always hard- even GOOD change. You sometimes just feel frozen-in limbo-unable to move forward- and certainly not wanting to move back. It's a process!

I can't wait to get my Spring Chicken goop...now get those suckers down to the Post Office, would ya-before it freezes solid in my mailbox! xo Diana

  22. Since it's "Think About it Thursday" here's my thoughts. . .

I'm trying to forgive me for coming here everyday, reading your posts, leaving inspired, and not telling you how much my dear Jaymee, how much I appreciate and love you!

Ok, I feel better now. . .I got it out, now I'm going to vacuum. . . NOT. . . Jaymee Jaymee Jaymee. . .there's no vacuuming in Dec. . .WOT!!. . .with all them ther halls to deck, and gifts to make, nipples to bake for Santa
    Pahleeeeezzz

    p.s. I told everyone about your nipples they're a bit hit. . .HUGE. . .Ü

  23. The thinner you is the same exciting you, Jayme. My trick is to eat the treats right out in the open in view of all... the treat will somehow lose its appeal and you will gain self confidence. At least it works for me. I feel so much better as the thinner me. I'm at the top end of my weight range, but I'd like to move on down about 15 libs. Christmas chocolates are not helping, but I have one or two. I don't like to vacuum. Blowing all the dust around does not make me happy.

  24. Who am I more inspired by, you or the other replies! We are all blessed to gather around the blog of Jayme and imbibe!

    God bless us everyone!

  25. sigh...Love ya girl..Listen to your heart...ALWAYS. for it is there that you will find the truest matter of what love is made of. what really, really is worth it all. Out of our hearts come the issues of life...so the Bible says. so every once in a while we get in there..in the core of what makes us tick and think.. and move every thing and dust and sweep and vacuum up the dirt that we have allowed to settle, and then we turn to the ONE who cleaned it up ONCE AND FOR ALL, and smile...and get the strength from HIM to keep on...keeping it that way. Christmas - the season of miracles. Because of Jesus, life is worth living. to - the - fullest! Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might. (yep, Bible again) and give HIM the glory. Hugs and Hugs to you. Keep dreaming your dreams. He puts those in us too! He made us after all, He wired us the way we are...so why not give it all back to Him. Makes the heart sing. rah xoxoxoxoxxoxo
