An Autumn Farewell

I'm not entirely sure how to convey how much I'm loving autumn this year - and this is only the second official day!

I've been bedecking the porches - stocking up on apples - and enjoying the changing slant of the light in the house as the days progressively get shorter.

It's the 360 degree circle of life baby - and I'm drinking every degree of it up.

So much going on at the moment - and honestly - I shan't have the time to blog for the next month.  I will be gone three out of four of the weeks in October -

Several of those days will be spent on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina with some dear friends - a couple more of those weeks in Missouri with family - and then a few days with the legendary Janie Fox

My soul needs this time.

In between all of that I'm throwing what I hope to be a fabulous Graduation Party for Aaron.

Wishing you all crisp leaves, sweater weather, hot cider and pumpkins.

Catch ya in November!

  1. North Carolina! Now, that's just one state below us!! Hope you have a great time... the weather is just cooling off here and getting very yummy if I don't say so myself. In fact it will be in the 40's tonite so there is an extra blanket on the bed! I know... crazy!! Have fun on your travels.

  8. Take lots of pictures and enjoy the smell of the woods while you are walking on that trail.. I always like to gather leaves and put them in a brown paper bag.. When winter comes I open up that bag and smell the rich smell of brown leaves...

  14. October is my favorite time of year! Love the cooler weather and the beautiful fall scenery . . . I wrote a poem about it once, cross stitched it, framed it, and gave it to my dad - he and I both have October birthdays. He's gone now but I still have that picture poem somewhere. If I was as organized as you, I'd know where! Have fun; fall vacations are the best! I'll miss what you so unselfishing share from your heart and about yourself, your fam, and your "doin's"! Come back (safely) soon! ~Patysue

  17. Oh, sigh...selfishly, I don't want to go that long without reading your adventures...but..

Have an amazing month!! I know Aaron will be very happy to have you give him a party, I'm sure you're all excited (okay and perhaps a little sad too!).

Have a safe and amazing time on the AT, it's fantastic. We have a section up here in NH, and people leave coolers along the trail with water and Coke and stuff in them for the hikers. I think that is kinda neat.

Have a wonderful Autumn, we'll see you back 'bout November way. ~Vonnie
