A Poultry Book Giveaway!

Good mmmmmooorrrnnnninnnng!
I had no intentions of blogging today.
I just couldn't hep m'self.
Life is too glorious!

I'm in high gear today. I pity the dustball that gets my way, I pity the weeds in the garden, and I do be pitying my elliptical machine - it's gonna get one heck of a workout.

You know why?
It's almost time for me to be unwell.
If you don't remember what that means, it means 'that time of the month'.
Now is the time that I make grand plans that my body couldn't carry out if it were half my age.

Oh yes.
I get like this right before.
I can barely breathe I have so much energy.
It's a blessing - it's a curse.

A sod cutter is being reserved today.
I'm tearing up the lawn and making more garden space.
I really want to take you with me every step of the way - so many of you have asked about my gardens.

So I was cleaning my desk off but good, and I came across this book -

The publisher had sent it to me some time ago to review.
A pox upon me for not doing it sooner.

It's a great book for the dead on beginner.
Don't know if you want chickens or ostriches?
Want a better method of raising your birds than
'well they died, so I must've done something wrong.'?

SO - if'n that's you - just leave me a comment to enter.
No hoops to jump through folks - I know you are busy - and I am too.  I haven't the time nor the inclination to double check to see if you tweeted about this nonsense!

I must take my leave of you now!
Aaron is learning all about Economics today, and I have many shenanigans and much tom foolery planned for the day.

Til soon.

  6. I love the timing of this--even though you were poxing yourself--because I've been thinking about raising chickens--at least a few--but I have absolutely no idea how to get started. Where does one even buy baby chicks? This I do not know. So obviously I have a LOT to learn so I won't be one of those, "Well...they died I guess I did something wrong or a raccoon got 'em."

So thanks for the chance to get my hot little hands on helpful chicken raisin' book!

  9. Would love that book for my nephew. He has raised a few chickens for several years. Now the last 2 years he has lost his youngest birds(that he gets every year) to foxes. How do you deal with that?
I love your optimism and joy. You are contagious in your energy.
Please write more often. We can't get enough of you.

  14. I am exactly the same way around that time of the month. Just bursting with energy and ready to take on anything. But right now, my body is going through a phase of not actually have a cycle -- yet the hormones are still there and I still have the same sudden burst of extra energy. Loved your post on mindfulness ... and laughed at your last line about getting chickens. Ha! Congrats on your weight loss. Best wishes, Tammy

  23. Cool! I'd love to have a book on chickens since I plan on having them in our next house!!
Oh, and I get all broody/nesty/spazzy too right before that time. My poor family. LOL! However, I imagine this is what it feels like when women go through the last burst right before their babies are born when they clean everything. Aaaah, the smell of soap!
