It's here! It's here!
I've been in the kitchen all afternoon in preparation for tomorrow's festivities.
Is it Christmas without bacon?
I thought not.
In other OCD/ADHD related news - it's taking everything in me not to take the Christmas decorations down.
Of course - I do realize how ridiculous this is, and I'm surprised that I'm even telling you.
I'm realizing I like the 'lead up' to Christmas - but by the time the actual day gets here - I'm ready to clean up and move on.
I'll wait until Sunday.
Just reposting this from last year - I'll be back very soon.
Again - I have to just thank you all for your incredible gift of friendship to me this year.
My goodness gracious - blogging has changed my life, and made my bottom a little more gelatinous, but it's been worth it all.

I feel the same way about the decorations, I start putting them up on Thanksgiving Day and they gotta go by the afternoon of Christmas day if I am home, if not it makes me crazy to have them up.ReplyDelete
I am always so ready to start a fresh new year.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Merry Christmas Jayme, all the best in 2011.ReplyDelete
I love blogging and I LOVE reading all the blogs that I follow.. Increible~! joy, friendships, smiles, making one laugh and just plain fun~!ReplyDelete
I always put my Christmas stuff away on New Year's Day.. This year it took me forever to get the tree up and then decorated, I decided maybe to just leave the tree where it's at and it will be ready for next Christmas. Lovely day here in Iowa.. getting lots of snow.. Yeah~! I love the snow..~!
I feel the same way about the decorations that you do Jayme and my tree has only been up for a week! Have a happy Day and a blessed new year my dear.ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas Jayme.ReplyDelete
I believe I am a fairly new reader to your site and am not sure if I have left a comment or not yet!!
I just love reading your posts--and you are on my blog roll--and that rendition of "night before Christmas is just --just the bees knees!!!
thank you for sharing it again!
May you and your family and the farm animals all have a safe and merry holidays--see you soon!!
Hugs, Di and miss gracie
Heck, I'm ready to tear her down too! Getting a little sick of it now.ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas, Jayme!
I wanted them down last week!!! I am wondering if I can remove them all as soon as the last guest leaves after Christmas lunch. I know I will be tired, but the thought of arising on the 26th with a Christmas-free house excites me to no end! My husband says I may not remove any decorations until after the New Year. Luckily for me, he is a heavy sleeper!ReplyDelete
I will be leaving my tree for awhile after Christmas. Things seem so bare when it is gone!ReplyDelete
We need to talk. Let me rephrase that, "We need to talk".ReplyDelete
I feel amiss w/o our yak session abilst the island. I still mourn for our lost day.
Oh lady, you are not alone! I was dusting in preparation for tomorrow's relatives and thought, "Uggh. I can't wait to get rid of this stuff." LOL I think we're all crazy ... and lovin' it! I wish you and yours a spectacular, warm, cozy, love and laughter-filled Christmas.ReplyDelete
A very Merry Christmas to you Jayme...You have added a bit of light to my life with your posts this year! Hugs-DianaReplyDelete
My tree and I have had issues.I am not speaking to it! Pre-lit...more like lit when it feels like it!
The kids come Sunday then Monday there will be some changes made!!! Can you say bonfire?
Merry Christmas to you!...ReplyDelete
I wait till Jan. 1, then it all gets put away. And yes, the bacon!
Merry Christmas, Jaymes!ReplyDelete
Hope your enjoying your day with those you love. (Well, with most of those you love....some of us are missing!)
Love ya to bits!
I think this old post was one of the first I saw (after the date) that made me love your writing. Prolly didn't have the nerve back then to come out of lurking stalker mode to tell you... But by now you know! Wishing you and the girls a raccoon free New Year!ReplyDelete
who barely gets decor done by the Eve and so leaves it up through daughter n mother's Bdays ~'til New Years! ;-0
I'm with you Jayme....ready to take down all the decorations and get back to "normal", whatever that is.ReplyDelete
Loved the poem and I don't sew, but I will be making my chickens some of those stockings for next year!
Best wishes to you for a healthy and happy NEW YEAR!
I thought I was all alone in the desire to take the decorations down by the end of Christmas Day. I've managed to last through all of today, but tomorrow when WeeMan is snoozing in his bed - our tree will be tucked away until next year. Hopefully he won't be too heartbroken.ReplyDelete
I think it's so funny that you have to have your bacon! I hate the stuff. I hate the smell of it cooking and am careful to ask that no little traces of it are added to my sandwiches or salads when I go out. I think it's just soooooo GROSS! I completely pass up restaurants who advertise it on their newest product until the commercial is forgotten. But - America seems to be having a love affair with it right now. It's everywhere. Make me just want to stay home! *lol*ReplyDelete
I LOVE your Christmas card! I saved myself a lot of work this year ~ I didn't put up any tree or decorations! Now, I just need to clean my house...ReplyDelete
Last night on FB was sooooo much fun, and I managed not to smother my husband with my pillow (I didn't say I didn't WANT to).ReplyDelete
On my way to the kitchen yesterday morning (as soon as I got out of bed), I was taking decorations down. I couldn't stand another second more. I sound like such a Grinch.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Jayme and wishing you and Glenco a happy, healthy, prosperous 2011!ReplyDelete
Thank you for the last few days on your blog = the holiday festivities and decorations around the old farmhouse are or were gorgeous. Hope you and the girls are able to keep warm.ReplyDelete
I started to put mine away today - was having a fit about it. But, once I got started it wasn't so bad.ReplyDelete
Just don't wear off on me... okay?
