My garden in the wee hours of the morning.
The earlier the better.
The traffic is quiet -
the temps are cool -
the girls are busy looking for bugs - but placid -
The bees have already had their breakfast - and are out gathering lunch -
The day is fresh - with no mistakes -
Although I've been known to sleep in a time or two -
I can't bare the thought of missing these quiet morning moments.
You can smell it in the garden - summer is ending -
Get up extra early tomorrow and get outside as soon as it's light.
A peaceful, magical world awaits you.
I could taste that tomato. Lovely post and gorgeous garden.
ReplyDeleteLovely idea, I wish I could make myself do it! Fall is definitely in the air up here.
ReplyDeleteI love the morning light for photography even better than sunset. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteA magical time for certain. Beautiful serene garden you have. It is cooling here too... the Madrone leaves are falling. Enjoy your lovely garden time. Thanks for the photos!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite times of day..followed quickly by sunset! I love your gardens and really think your scaregirl is great! Tomorrow, when you are out enjoying the beauty of your surroundings I will be working within the confines of hospital walls...so take an extra deep breath of fresh air for me! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSo lovely in your garden, and your tomato! Love the scare girl and flowers. Ok that's it...I wannah come to your house in the morning! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty photos Jayme. I have a question for you. How do you have hydrangeas still blooming? Mine quit a month or more ago. Do you deadhead the spent ones and this is what came back? This is my first year with them and I've never grown them before. Your chickies look so pretty. I love all of their colors. We lost another one today. It got up to 103 here today and she couldn't take it. WAAA! :'(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder, I get up real early but head to the computer...not tomorrow! I do miss the lovely early morning garden....
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to wake up in the morning! And enjoy every tomato!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden, Jayme! I just love Zinnias ...every size and color. They're just such HAPPY flowers!
ReplyDeleteThat tomato looks like my BEE-hind! I had such a nice time with you this morning. We must certainly do this more often!!!
ReplyDeleteI love fall, but it is sad that summer went so quickly. So many plans I didn't get completed. Love your pictures, love your post.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely. I love to just watch everything slowly come to life! The sun smiles, the trees stretch and a new day begins.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely! I am not a morning person, but you're right, the garden is best in the morning. And also the evening, when I usually enjoy it:)
ReplyDeleteSigh....I am getting up early tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteCoopy,
ReplyDeleteYour garden is gawjus!

Hi Jayme..I have really enjoyed looking at your garden this morning! I love early mornings too..especially in summer. We are just at the end of winter here and I am really looking forward to those beautiful early mornings in this part of the world. That tomato is the best..the colour and ripeness are almost tangible to me.
ReplyDeleteI just love posts like this. It is cooling off here is MA. I love summer, but I also love the transition between the season. Your chickens are looking good too, glad you have recovered from the auction.
ReplyDeleteyou quoted anne! now you're my friend for life;)
ReplyDeleteLovely! I so need to take your advice on this. I've been such a slug in the mornings the past few weeks. I will try to do better =) Good golly, your gardens are bee-you-ti-ful!! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteI love early mornings on the porch with my coffee and my bible. We need rain right now so the plants aren't looking as good with a hose as they do with nature's but, I still love the birds, the quiet and the cool.
ReplyDeleteHere in Tasmania Spring is in the air! We had an amazingly mild day today, and it was glorious to be outside in the sunshine. There is blossom on the trees and daffodils are blooming. Your garden is looking beautiful Jayme. I would love to see a map/plan of your garden, so I can see how it is all laid out.
ReplyDeleteI expect it is quieter without your 3 boys! But I bet they are having fun!!
Kathy from Tasmania
I agree 100%. The early mornings are the best.
ReplyDeleteI wish my poor dry garden looked as good as your though.
Love to be out in the garden in the wee morning hours! BUT me thinks your wee hours of the morning are wee'r than mine Ha! Great pics! Have a lovely day

It's been a BEAUTIFUL week...you can feel fall in the air. Wait...didn't we just get over winter?!
ReplyDeleteJayme, SUCH beautiful photos! Love the tomato! Thanks for sharing with us. Have you ever read any Rachel Peden? (Local Indiana writer.) She writes of the magic of the early hours.
