The Crippling Continues

She lives!

So sorry for the unintended blog break.
Thanks to the few that sent emails checking on me.
I so appreciate being missed!

Everything is well, just incredibly busy.

This has been the busiest week in my recent memory.
I've not had a smidge of computer time.

The weather was so nice, and I put in a fence, tore out a fence and dug seven fence post holes by hand before my dear neighbor came to the rescue with a power auger. I'm still feeling crippled and sore from the yard work, and it hasn't even officially begun.

We've had company.

We helped my sister move.

Today was Cooking Club, and have I gotta a baked bean recipe for you!

The ducks are getting so big!

I want more ducks. even though they are incredibly messy.

I got a rooster.

Yes, you read that right.

I got a rooster on Thursday night.
Haven't taken one pic of the poor guy yet!

We jokingly named him Mohammad, since he woke up to ten virgins on Friday morning.
Toying with the names Cletus, Joe or Steve.
He's a beauty.

I have a LOT to say about the situation.

I'm not liking my girls being deflowered.

I witnessed Fifi's deflowering, and I've not been the same since.

The rabbit escaped, and was missing for three days.
Glen rescued her yesterday out by the garage.

I leave for Missouri in five hours!
I want to take the ducks with me. I'm seriously going to miss them.
There's a turkey hatchery on the way, and I may or may not stop and get some baby turkeys.
I'm not sure what is going on with me.
Perhaps the Camper B & B needs a Petting Zoo.

I have a million blog posts in my head, and I've started a new blog

'In the Kitchen with the Coop Keeper'

and plan on transferring all my recipes to that one, and posting recipes often.

I'm going to take this week off of blogging, since I'm going to be out of town.
I want to re-vamp the blog abit.
There are so many of your blogs that I want to get on my sidebar.

I just need to get caught up a bit.

Thanks for your patience with me.

I absolutely will be back, full of piss and vinegar very soon!

PS...have you noticed how the top picture has nothing to do with this blog post?
I just like it.
I want to read that book.
:-)

  3. It's after 10"30 at night and I'm at the computer when I read the line about Mohammad and his ten virgins... I burst out laughing! (Hope I didn't wake up the kids!)

My husband says you might need protection now. You know... since you may have defamed Mohammad.

Have a great vacation! We'll be anxiously waiting when you get back!

  4. Woo Girl...I figured you was bizzy, but I was a mite worried. I was sick all last week.

Mr. Rooster would make a fine Cletus, but I also like Bojangles. Just because.

Have a super terrific (and safe) trip to MO and back. See ya on the flip side.

  11. Yikes you've been busy. How in the world do you do it all? The ducks are adorable, I can understand why you would want to take them with you.
Have a fun trip and enjoy your time in Missouri. I think my hubby would come with me, just to make sure I wouldn't stop at the turkey hatchery. :-)

  12. Jayme, we will sorely miss you! I need my daily smile from you. (no pressure)

Once upon a time we had a rooster and the darn thing kept attacking me! No one else, just me. Beware and be careful of the rooster!

  15. Here's an early welcome to Missouri. It is awful soggy here right now as most of the state just got snow over the weekend. Can't wait to see pictures of Mohammad ! Lol

  16. Enjoy your trip, I know you will, 'cause your travellin' in style! More pics of the squirrel are ALWAYS appreciated. Then the one who goes by RR's Mom and I can drool. : )

A rooster!! Yee haw!! Now that's exciting, even if it did hurt your eyes. Sorry to hear about that part. You know, I don't think that would have even crossed my mind..until it happened. What can I say? I'm still getting used to this country life. : )

    ~Andrea~

PS. Two blogs are better than one (as long as I don't have to maintain them!) Can't wait!

  17. You make my life seem extraordinarily dull. I hope you have a wonderful trip. Me and the ducks will be waiting patiently for you to come home.

  18. You know your craziness is contagious- and I totally mean that in a good, good way! Have a good trip. Still no ducks for me but I did wake up to about 10 wild turkeys in the back pasture this morning.

  19. Jayme, just wait until your rooster gets his spurs. Three inch long gashes. My little boy and I tried glueing on things, duck tape, everything we could think of. It did work for a while; it makes their spurs fall off then you'll have to begin again. You can't fight Mother Nature.

  20. I hafta warn you on the male ducks. We had one that ran with our chickens and our chickens kept turning up dead.....it was the duck breeding them...not kidding.

  25. I went to visit my middle daughter this evening and she had ducks. They started out with four, one for each of the boys. But sorry to say one perished this very day. Sad day. But they are so cute. I am going to start counting the days until the chicks arrive. We have wild turkeys so I will not be bringing any of those home. I keep telling hubs I want a mule. He is not biting.

  26. Good golly, Jayme! Never a dull moment with you, girl. So, does the rooster mean there will be little baby chicks in your future? How fun would that be. Can't wait to see what all you have in store for us. Have fun on your trip....are you taking the squirrel?

  27. Gwen Peterson? I feel like I've read something else by her. Anyway...you make me want to read that book.
A rooster? Everyone had chickens & roosters in Hawaii. Because a dozen eggs go for $5!
I love all of your random comments!
