The Pap Came Back...

See Slinx in the window?
Just another pop in.
The pap came back.
Normal.

Thank you God!
Thank you guys for all of your notes and prayers.
I'm too awnry for things to be growing in me that don't belong.
Word - don't be up having vaginal probings too close to the end of your last cycle.

Selah.

I'm exactly at a half dose with the Effexor.
The dizziness and pressure in my ears are the worst symptoms at the moment.
Today, I was a bit too dizzy to drive.
That was rather annoying.
I feel like I should be in rehab.  I'm literally counting out the tiny balls in the capsules.  I am taking 40 at the moment, and each week, I dose down by 10.  Four more weeks, I'll be done.
I know I'm not taking a big dose - but sisters, I'm telling you - this stuff is rough to get off of - no matter what you are taking.

But you know what?
I'm really ok.
I am finally, for what I believe is the first time in my life - ok with the fact that I'm not Jayme The Superwoman at the moment.
I'm ok with not making the bed.
I'm ok with accomplishing basically nothing on some days.
I've been reading - napping - 'being'.
It's been very healing, in many ways.

With that said -  I AM looking forward to getting the DeCluttering going again - and being more active here.
I do have some good days where I get some yard work done.
I'm going for quality over quantity.

Hey - I changed my name on Facebook back to Jayme Goffin - it just seemed silly to be incognito - I mean, seriously?

So...look me up.

Til soon.

  1. Don't the word "normal" take on a new meaning when it's related to a test result? Thank the Lord!
You're Jayme and you're going to be okay. At some point in your life, you'll look back and laugh really hard. My "change" tried to ruin me but I made it so I know you will. Love you!

  6. Your blog is one of the first ones I look for when I log on to see how things are. You sure have had your up-N-downs and I pray things till level out soon for you. Yes, getting off that stuff is a kick in the butt. Its good to take this time to chillax and just take things easy. I know that with your animals and gardening and caring for the house that leaves little for YOU. Make time for you, which is what those rehab places say to do. You have done so much for others, it’s now time to think about you. Then in turn when you are off this "E", you can then start to get on track and set your priorities.

    Hang in there.

  10. I think you have reached a milestone on dealing with meno and aging...we are just not superwoman anymore...if we ever were!?! You have to remember the reason you started taking Effexor to begin with and start there as you are tapering...because I think you will still have a year or so for your body / mind to get back to producing your own good feeling vibes....not being negative...just to be prepared. Self care is at the utmost right now for you. Glad for the great pap result...quality over anything works every time!

  11. HI Jayme,
I haven't been by your blog for awhile and I didn't know about your "pap problem". So glad to hear that things are OK. I've been there and I know what it's like to hear the words "abnormal" from the Dr. This was 25 years ago and after having some minor surgery, I've been fine ever since.
Also I understand about the withdrawal from SSRI's. I had been on Paxil for 15 years and wanted to go off, because, well, it had been 15 years:) The doctor said it was keeping me from having menopausal symptoms and boy was he right. As soon as I stepped down and went through all the awful withdrawal, I was hit with hot flashes from hell! I am now going to go back on a lower dose just to get through the next few years of menopause and some personal stuff.
So now you know a lot more about me than you probably wanted to know:) It does sometimes help to hear that others share your experiences. I wish you all the best!

Keep writing when you are up to it and we will keep responding with encouragement as you journey through - glad to read that your superwoman cape has been tucked away....pace yourself with kindness if you can.

    Blessings,
    Barbra.

  15. So happy your test came back clear! I know it's a scary thing. Just rest and don't fret about "Decluttering". We will all still be here. You just need to finish up with that nasty Effexor and take care of yourself. Peace!

  16. I know the feel of that relief . . . .congratulations!!!
There's an old Bible Joke that goes:
"It is written . . 'and so it came to pass' - NEVER 'it came to stay.'"

  20. Jayme.... the ear thing can be toally fixed with QBC Plex. You can get it at the health food store in cedar lake. If Jodi doesn't have it, then braums in st john. It fixes the ringing, swelling, and the dizziness. All of it. The first week take 3 in morning and 3 in the evening. Second week take 2 in morning and 2 at night. Next week normal dosing. Had the same things going on with my ears.. Doctors couldn't fix it with perscription allergy meds, steriods and antibotics. Was really bad couldn't even stand up. And I felt like crap. Within a week I felt great. Was so mad at dr for giving me all that crap that didn't work and this worked so fast and well. It is quercetin, bromelain and C
