I'm not going to say much on this post - I'll just let the videos and the photos do the talking - but I have to say, that I laughed until I cried when I watched this second clip...
The Donner Party? No hope?
I'm 50' from the house!
I made it! |
My favorite picture |
My neighbor Danielle |
You will do ANYTHING for attention. Ha. So so funny...and CRAZY woman. I can't believe you walked even 50' in that mess. wow.
ReplyDeleteI agree though, it is beautiful!! It's not snowing that hard at all here, just little flakes gently falling. So sweet. But all that ice underneath is totally wicked!! Ha.
Love you...stay warm tonight.
Hey, we should Skype tomorrow if you can!!
Ummm, I like you even more for singing Snow. That is from my all time favorite movie. Enjoy your warm home. We've been baking (homemade bagels yum) through our ice storm here in PA!
ReplyDeleteThat was our weather here this morning in Massachusetts. You did well to walk half a mile in it. YIKES!!!
ReplyDeleteYou crazy woman! You were certainly pink but not a chicken. I'm glad you got back safely. Now stay inside for crying out loud!
ReplyDeletelaw.
I hope it's okay but I put this on my blog as a favorite link. You are killing me. Absolutely hilarious.
ReplyDeleteGood ol' country hospitality...ain't nothin' like it! ; )
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe you should send neighbor Al over here to pick up that down comforter!! You might actually NEED it tonight!
We just spent a few hours out snow blowing, shoveling and sweeping snow. If those winds DARE come up and blow my driveway shut tonight...well...welll...I'm just going to have to go out there and do it all over again tomorrow!
Selah.
Hands down, undoubtably, the funniest, stupidest, coldest, most dangerous thing I've ever seen! Only you would head out in a full on blizzard, take your camera to document your "Donner Moment" so that you could take a coffeecake to a neighbor! On this cold, snowy, icy 14 degree afternoon I have to say this was better than anything on tv.
ReplyDeleteYou should have worn a bathing suit, goggles and wings and announced Weather conditions are prohibiting take off.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe. Snow and ice in NJ as well...still.
Your Friend,
Deborah
Oh this was FUN! I felt like you took me along with you. The 4-wheeler ride back was fun. Crazy but FUN! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOk...have to say this is by far my favorite post to date. :) Kudos for you getting out there and doing that. That must have been SOME kind of coffeecake!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! 50' from the house and you are talking Donner party. I laughed so hard I spit on my monitor. I gotta quit chewing tobacco.
ReplyDeleteGood for you Jayme for not letting a little bit of snow stop you from some cake and tea! You crazy woman! I enjoyed the walk. It's the most I've walked all week actually! Now stay inside before you get sick again!
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
This was more exciting than NCIS! Thanks, I loved every minute. By the way is was 70 degrees here in Wilmington, NC! Tomorrow it will be in the 40's!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Now I'm feeling guilty I called it stupid, I loved Candid Camera and that was stupid. I mean stupid good! You are the Survivior Series on Nat Geo that goes out into the wilderness with nothing more than a toothpick and a kleenex, yet they live to tell about it...
ReplyDeleteWhat a craazzy woman! I managed to truck out to the hen house this morning and take a few pictures. The snow was up to my knees and over them when I hit a spot where it drifted. I posted about my snow day a few minutes ago! Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteAnderson Cooper should be in fear of his job during the next hurricane! This was one of THE best blog posts ever!! Oh, and by the way, aren't you now a 49 year old farmgirl wannabe?
ReplyDeleteWait.... I have to collect my thoughts. They are blowing around in my head along with that crazy blizzard of yours.
ReplyDeleteGood show, Coop, good show!
You are a nut. I may even send you papers.
Your singing voice is lovely. Maybe you can do a dinner theatre for us one day.
Now, please go find a quilt and stay inside so that I may not worry my pretty little head about you freezing out in the snow.
I have to admit though, i laughed so hard I thought I might... well... you know. You're a hoot.
Praying you're safe n snug and happy. You made me giggle. You also brought back memories of hubby n I four wheeling thru the blizzard just after Sarah was born... I was stir crazy, she was napping, ultra baby monitor was working as we drove (I could hear her lullabies playing beside crib + baby snores)... Hubby thought a drive thru the fields of our newly purchased farm would cheer me up. He was right. But just as crazy as you!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the beauty, then it melts fast so you don't have to shovel for the rest of your life!
xo
Leslie
Oh, that looks so cold. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the best! Jayme, you are a hoot and a holler!!!
ReplyDeleteOh sweet girl! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings,
Melissa
PS - I laughed out loud at your frozen boogers comment! :o)
the snow gives you a good excuse to pull out the snowmobile when we lived in idaho my husband would drive the snowmobile to work what a fun way to get around
ReplyDeleteOh you are certifiably a nut case!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you and the squirrel get along so well...j/k
You are a gem!
Now if you ride your bike to my house tomorrow I'll make you cake balls! Just give me enough notice..it takes a bit.
Gotta love ya,
Julie
I love you, do you know that? You make me want to burst out in song, too! My kids watched the videos with me. They clapped when you made it back home! lol!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you or anyone would venture out into that storm! You're crazy! Me? I would've been wrapped up in an afghan sitting on the couch reading a book & drinking some steaming, hot coffee or maybe some tea!
ReplyDeleteThe tea, cakes & company must have been worth the trip! Just glad you're back home safe & sound!
The look on your friends' face is priceless! Perhaps thinking "did she really walk in this crap to my house for tea and coffeecake?" My dear, you are a hoot!
ReplyDeleteWell, you are a brave one. It's a mess here too but it sounds a lot windier where you live. That makes it 100 times worse. You crack me up with your videos. I was out walking to get to my catsitting clients and it was only me and the post-man on the street. I guess what doesn't kill ya...................Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteCrazy girl!! We're over here by fort wayne enjoying our drifts too. WeeMan and I made snow angels and threw snow at daddy who was hard at work trying to shovel us out. (Party Pooper!) We're looking forward to another snow day tomorrow too.
ReplyDeleteHope you stay safe and warm in all your crazy adventures!
OMG- I KNEW this was going to happen...give you a camcorder and WATCH OUT WORLD...the Chicken Woman Walks! I can't hear it very well at work but I am dying here...I think you should take that act on the road. Is Las Vegas calling your name by any chance? I could see you doing a one woman show! Hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, Woman.. is that a chicken hat? ....
ReplyDeleteTom and I just got home from having dinner at our son's house. They live about 10 miles from us. We are in Indianapolis and we didn't get the snow you got, but we did get plenty of ice. On the drive home I thought of you in northern Indiana and wondered how you were fairing... got home and read and watched your blog. Here I was feeling daring for driving a few miles in the ice, but you had to show me up and walk through a blizzard. Thanks a lot! I also loved you singing "Snow", but I wanted to hear more. Maybe we could put in requests!
ReplyDeleteYou are fun and wonderful! Park City, UT
ReplyDeleteYou are just a talent!! That was the most entertaining post/play by play, I have read and I loved it. What a laugh I got!
ReplyDeleteJust what a person needs to do... look at the beauty in a Record Breaking Blizzard!!
Oh Jayme, I always get a kick out of reading your blog, but today was the best! (Although you really shouldn't have been out in a BLIZZARD!) I nevertheless had a good laugh, and so did Bob!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being you!
Lynda

This just made our NIGHT. Oh, if only to have been there with you!
ReplyDeleteOur favorite part was when you just couldn't hep yourself and you busted out singing on the 4-wheeler. I love that the True Gentleman was privy!
ps - What we got here is NUTHIN like what you done gone got.
What a fun post. It's got it all. Adventure, danger, beauty, drama, travel and a custom musical score. Fast paced and real. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jayme, I felt like I was right there with you...minus the cold, and the wet, and the snow....
ReplyDeleteWe had quite the ice storm here in PA....pics on my blog Thursday.
Stay warm...eat cake!!!
There is only one other thing that could get a woman out on a day like that and that would be a HAIR APPOINTMENT!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed hearing from you crazy lady! You have a beautiful voice!
Stay warm! xo, Cheryl
I was all chuckling and anxious about how you were gonna get back home and I am so glad you caught a ride!! And don't men just love to be the hero when they are playing with their toys.
ReplyDeleteI hope you made yourself some hot chocolate and sat by a fire when you got home.
kim
Ha Ha! I did the same thing once... there must be something in them there blizzards that just make ya wanna cozy up with a friendly neighbor for some cake and coffee! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your positive attitude and your zest for life! This had me laughing out loud and my boys had to come in and see what all the happiness was about. YOU my dear! You are a joy to read (and now watch!) and such a gift to this big ol' world.
ReplyDeleteHilarious, absolutely hilarious! You are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteUm.. you be crazy, lady! We are over here in Goshen and there ain't nobody out in this mess unless they are behind the wheel of a snow plow! But thank goodness you did, so we could all have a tremendous laugh and a smile on our faces. You are hilarious. And I just LOVE that you sang "the snow song". My older kids (age 5 and 7) and I watch that favorite movie every December! Love it! Stay warm...INSIDE!
ReplyDeleteHaahaa! That's great!!! Remember me? Lil ol sheila ~The southern bird who freezes when it's below 60? We haven't gotten OUT of the thirties in days and now... we too are expecting our own "winter weather" starting this evening and into tomorrow. YOU talk about a city shuttin down! LOL Houston we have a problem! (ha ha!. It is funny to those of us who live in and around Houston LOL)
ReplyDeleteTOOOO funny!!!! We played outside and went in for hot cocoa....no snowplow comes here...my guy plowed the driveway last night, but think we will stay snowed in another day! jan
ReplyDeleteHaHa ~ Jayme, you are too cute! Love that you are enjoying yet another blizzard of 2011.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Be safe, stay warm and here's hoping you don't have the roof collapses we have here in CT!!
ReplyDeleteYou're one BRAVE woman!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's pretty much what it looked like here on Tuesday. It actually looks a lot the same today only less wind, so snow is not blowing all over the place. My husband has a Jeep and my boys drive big trucks, so we can get in and out but most people are stuck at home here.
And actually, I've enjoyed it. I've done lots of shopping online and have almost finished making Olivia (due March 1st) and Brilyn's (born Jan 23) Christmas stockings. If I stay snowed in another day I might just finish!
Love your posts....they are a welcome chuckle to my crazy days!
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
Kathleen
OH, How I love a good snow storm!! I sure wish I was there with you. I also heard about your ministry that Glenco squelched. If we lived closer we would have a moon pie, and sing songs all day long to the chickens(that I would have brought into the house).Maybe you should name the next rooster "AL"??!! Let us know when they finally dig you all out.
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly! That was fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteWow!! What an amazing site! You are a brave woman!! We lived in Indiana when I was in 6-7th grade and it wa smy first time to ever see snow. We moved from texas so I was very used to heat. the first winter there we were completely snowed in w/out electricity! It was crazy!! Snow drifts went all the way up the windows! this video totally brought all of that back! Thanks for the memories!
ReplyDeleteALSO, I love the hat, it is soooo you!!I thought it was a cat hat, but was corrected, in it being an"owl hat"?? All you were missing was your chicken purse. Jamye, you are such a ray of sunshine any day!
ReplyDeleteThere you go again.
ReplyDeleteYou crazy girl. What fun!!!!
I'm sure your day is crammed with cheery delights and that your home smells comforting as the storm buffets your safe abode.
Maybe I have spent too much time in Cranford!
What are your chickens doing?
Love to you,
Lynda
(Holly's friend)
You risked life and limb for us to have a good laugh?! My 16 yr old grandson didn't know who the Donner party was. Now he does. LOL Glad to hear of so many others who enjoy the moment and the present season.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely hilarious. Best post EVER!! Keep singing!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should be the on the Weather Channel! We love you in Vermont!
You are lucky you goy plowed out so early! We only just got plowed about an hour ago, finally! Enjoy your blog...the videos are hilarious!

ReplyDeleteI love your videos!!! What were you thinking going all that way??? What if you couldn't get home???? What if you had to eat someone????
Did Al get the signifigance of the song??? I hope it wasn't lost on him!!!
Love your hat girlfriend...stay warm...and indoors...your own indoors!!!!!
It's official you are crazy but a good crazy! Loved this! Traci
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that kind of cold makes people crazy! I am in Houston and we are hunkered down too, tonight, ready to face lows in the 20s and 1-2 inches of snow and sleet! School are closed tomorrow(!) which is even better since I am a teacher! We just dont know what to do with this kind of weather. I can't even dream of how you are dealing with your blizzard! You sound as happy with that snow as I am to read your new blog entries each time you write. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteSusan
My secret Hoosier weather guru (weather fanatical storm chaser) is having talks of a potential storm next week to hit... and the talks are that it may be comparable to the blizzard of 78 (I was three YIKES)... I love the snow... but I'm almost over it... specially after this recenty icy/sleety round of it...
ReplyDeleteStay warm Coopy
Hurry up Spring!! Coming to you from the deep South where we are frozen also. No snow, but ice!! School has been closed for 2 days. We just don't know what to do with all of this!!???? Love your videos.
ReplyDeleteLMAO, so funny. You rock girl!
ReplyDeleteWe had 20 inches here in Mid-Mizzourree!
Patti
Please tell me the chickens are ok.
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I can't believe you are having that much fun in the middle of that storm! You are just so positive!
ReplyDeleteJaymes, you take the cake. Hilarious. Singing on a four wheeler in the middle of a blizzard. I absolutely love the up close and personal view of a Chicago snowstorm via Blizzard Cam 2011. Totally feeds right into my weather obsession!
ReplyDeletep.s. Did Glenco have any comment when he heard how you spent your day?
This is wonderful blog. I love it.
