Betty Draper Called....

...she wants her coat back.

Talk about being in the right place at the right time -
I picked up this beauty at the resale for 8 dollas!

Today I'm going to a Christmas play right up and in the middle of the afternoon.
And I'm dressing up Draper-style.

Funny thing - how you think you look until you take a picture, isn't it?
I really thought my hair looked good - so I took a pic to show you - and come to find out that it's a rat's nest!

Kinda like this -

  1. Pic of you in the coat, I love it!

  2. The hair is perfect -- perfectly tousled, perfectly imperfect. It would take a New York salonist hours to create this look, and cost beaucoup bucks! When in doubt, just squint till it looks right.

  3. Just keep squinting...love that comment...I do it all the time so I can see! Ha! Love the coat, the hair and the second pic running...totally you!

  10. Boy oh boy...I hear ya. I have been asked twice in three days if I have grandchildren. I almost cried when it happened today. I think I am gonna save up for some botox.

  11. What a lovely photo- of that coat in your bedroom on that form. I think I could sleep quite well in that bedroom by the looks of it.
I run like a fuhreak, too. Last night at the Y I would run when no one was in sight and then walk quickly when they were. Who wants to see a 53 year old Grandma run? I run like Edith Bunker.

  17. Ohmygosh, I totally love that last one... I must've seen it on pinterest, like, 25 million times and it makes me laugh every time. So true too! I always feel very Sidney Bristow (from Alias) when I run, but my man took my pic while I was running a 10K a few months back... Yeah. I ain't look nothin' like Sidney Bristow when I run! HA!

  18. What an awesome coat!! I snagged a bright red wool coat with a fur color at an antique mart a few weeks ago but I paid 25.00. It's made so much better than anything new.
And what are you talking about? I think your hair looks smashing. And I do mean smashing in a good way.... not smashed on your head! :)

  19. The coat is gorgeous, you hair looks great and if I saw you running I wouldn't care what you looked like, I'd be impressed that you're running!

  20. I have a coat almost just like that...same thing, I got it cheaply at a consignment store. I love wearing it...it's such fun! And the collar is so soft. You look super in it!

  21. The running ad really tickled me. And being easily amused, it's fun to laugh this early. Thanks.

  22. I laughed out loud when I read your post especially when I looked at the last two pictures. Isn't it funny that we all have a picture in our heads of what we think we look like and then and then reality of a picture pokes us in the eye.

  23. Love the coat & the hair. The two pictures are just hilarious. Thanks for sharing.
