Dear Blog Buds:
Just wanted you to know that I'm taking a bit of a break, just a few days, where I'm going to keep my computer turned off. I realized today that I've filled the hole of Aaron leaving with the internet, and for me, that is not acceptable. I just feel that I'm on the computer too much - I do hope you understand. My goal is to stay completed disconnected until Monday. Sounds so silly - just three little days - but it's what I need to do.
Please - have no fun until I return.....
oh poo. I had to turn my computer off today just to get my house clean. I have this bad habit of checking my email between dustings and next thing you know I have half a shelf covered in fluff and half cleaned.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you were above that.
But, good for you. Make a sheet cake for me.
Sniff Sniff......
ReplyDeleteI shall wait and I will contrive to control myself in your absences...But just for the record...
In my home, he (Glenco) would be picked on jealously, as the FAVOR CHILD!!! I just had to get that off my chest, I do feel much better now. I feel even better if you'd let me have your new pot!!!!
Well I took a month off from posting anything and got a lot done. Just did some visiting of my favorite people (you of coarse)and left a few comments. I was stopping by today to let you know I finally posted pictures of the room finish that I spent most of the said month working on. Hope when you come back you will come by and check it out.
ReplyDeletedid you buy that red pot? haha you can't read all these comments til Monday, I'm so calling you and teasing you about how many there are!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off.. but no promises on holding off on the fun.
ReplyDeleteChris
no fun to be had lady. I've been doin' the same, a few days here and there...my poor neglected blog. OH wait! Noone reads mine anyhow:P
ReplyDeleteWell, while you're off pretending you can't feel that computer pulling you back into it's icy cold hands... I've discovered your blog and had a roaring great time reading a bit of it.
ReplyDeleteI'll be back. I don't know if that's a warning. ?
I so get it......heck, I just had entered the blogging world some months back and soon realized how much time I was spending on the puter......I have now returned and hope to have a better handle on things!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your quite time away!
Good for you. You set a stellar example for the rest of us poor blogging slobs. Enjoy some time a way but know that you shall be missed terribly, horribly, excrutiatingly. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteOh nooooo.. I just FOUND your blog and really enjoy your humor! I don't know who Aaron is or where he went, perhaps I'll read back some and figure that out.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend even tho you won't read this till Monday.
enjoy days filled with margin and being free of all the mental internet clutter :) Good, good for you! And please forgive me for not giving a big "thank you" sooner for the sweet vintage linens you sent me...2 of them are gracing tables in my bedroom right now and they make me smile and think of you!!!
ReplyDeleteSince I got the laptop, it's invaded my time with hubby...unacceptable. My GRANDsons straighten me out every weekend!
ReplyDeleteI understand. Peace...
ReplyDeleteI too felt adrift after my homeschooling days were over. I now volunteer tutor at the local public middle school where the needs are great and resources are few. God gave you so many people-skills gifts, Jayme, perhaps you would enjoy sharing them with other young people. If you connect with Aaron, you will connect with other young people who need someone like you in their life!
ReplyDeleteOkay, back to bed it is!!!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't posted for 3 weeks, and only looked at other blogs every 3 or 4 days and I have to say I enjoyed it very much!!! This is so addictive and certainly interferes with stuff I should be doing instead!!!
You will be missed, but now I can take a break til Monday!!! Hey, if you're gone, I'm gone!!!
Sleep in the squirrel for a night, will ya??
Yep, I do recognize that situation!! Good for you trying to balance it out.
ReplyDeleteWhen you come back, Could you send me a good lemon meringue recipe? I made one yesterday with y boy for school and Amelia bedelia, and failed miserably. I am slopily bet steadily eating lemon meringue soup. Thanks
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Make the decisions that work for you and your family. We all need a break from the things we do. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteoh, YEAH!! Just leave us hangin'! Enjoy your weekend....:)
ReplyDeleteYay you! I 'bout shut my blog every other day. I can't seem to find the right balance... Show us the way dear Jayme!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Leslie
BTW ~ didn't see your AWESOME yellow chair pic til just now. Stupid slow pic loading Mac!
jayme~i totally understand. i often take breaks from the computer especially facebook and blogland.
ReplyDeletewishing you an enjoyable weekend.
Glad you are taking some time to take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteYour strength is inspiring. The funny thing is the other day there was a doctor on TV talking about all types of addictions and she defined an addiction as something that you think you can't get through the day without and I immediately thought "Oh my GOD - blogging!" I know what you mean tho, the internet can really take over your life if you let it. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend! Having Rodi home on his surgical recovery leave has me blogging less. It is KILLING me. I think of a great post, get ready to type it up, and instead remember I have to drive him to a physical therapy appointment. SIGH just 2 more weeks and then life will return to normal. Then I can blog to my heart's content. You will be missed this weekend by all!
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I am so addicted. I can't imagine what I could get done with 3 whole days. Hmmmm maybe I should try that too. Hope it went well.
