It's over! It's over!
Well, half over. I go back next week for the rest.
Ladies, it was a piece of cake.
Dr. Louis Sertich is the best dentist, ever.
I actually brought my comfort blanket from home. It made me feel safe.
They were more than accommodating to take pictures for me.
Here I am all tanked up on nitrous oxide.
I was higher than a kite.
The thing I feared the worst, the needle, I was completely unaware of even getting it.
Completely unaware.
I really think it was your prayers.
As soon as I wake up from the Xanax, and the Novocain wears off, I'll be good to go.
I stopped at Hobby Lobby before the dentist.
Perhaps I'll lay the bedroom floor in the dollhouse tonight!
What relief I feel.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.
Ya'll are the BEST.
I love getting the gas! I never tried it until I was over 40. I mean I just don't understand why they didn't say those simple words before..."it will just take the edge off and reduce your stress". I'll say! I told them that I get really stressed at work some days and asked if they make it in an inhaler form....just a thought!
ReplyDelete;)
So glad that you are feeling better!
Sandy
good Girl!!! See no need to worry..it will all be fine!
ReplyDeletetake care
Julie
So glad your pain is gone. Gosh how I dislike having to go to the dentist.... but my dentist and tech are very caring so that eases my worry a little on dental day.

Yahhhh! So glad it's half over. It makes all the difference in the world when you have a good dentist. On a very sad note, our dentist passed away 2 weeks ago of melanoma. He was only 51 and he was the best!! A great dentist isn't always easy to find.
ReplyDeleteHave a restful evening.
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
So glad it is over for you. Get lots of rest and try to really recover. By the way, your dentist has the cutest dimples!
ReplyDeleteHaha! You got a picture with the dentist!! :) Thayt is great! So glad you are feeling better!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhew! I'm glad it was as easy as pie or a piece of cake or so gosh darn trouble free and here's to still feeling fine when the drugs wear off. : )
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that only you would think to have their photo taken with the doc...and I love it!
Bee well! ~Andrea~
That is a great pic of you and your dentist! He actually looks like a nice man, and not all scary-like :) Ok, whew, so glad everything went ok! I'll brave my procedure next week, although it won't be something I can post pictures of.. lol. Get some rest! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteSo glad that it is almost over. I love that you took your blanket.
ReplyDeleteHope you sleep well tonight.
I'm so happy for you, it's over and it wasn't all that bad. Taking pictures with your dentist, classic! Love that you brought your own blanket. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you that it is OVER!! I'm relieved that YOU'RE relieved. Remember that implant I told you about... I COMPLETELY understand how you feel! And I was a dental assistant! God has a funny sense of humor. Actually, it helped me get over my fear to a large degree. At least I'll go now!
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way to check out those spices you mentioned. They look divine!
I'm so glad your root canal is done and over with!! I'm the SAME way about dentists. The last couple years I've had a female dentist and for some reason she doesn't freak me out as much. Of course I've never had to have a root canal, but I've had teeth pulled! Love the little nose thing for the Nitrous!!
ReplyDeleteYou go gal! You are a survivor, but dang while I was reading your blog I somehow chipped my front tooth. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteyippee! So glad you can see that in your rear view mirror! And glad you are on your way to pain free days again. Yep, that gas is the way to slip into dream land. Thanks for letting us all know you are okay. And what nice dentist people you go to. Kudos to them.

ReplyDeleteGlad the the worst of it is out of the way. Your next visit will be a piece of cake!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you feeling better! I just loved the "Thumbs Up" pic, you don't see that much in a dentist office!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah Jayme....so lucky...my appointment is the 19th and I am not looking forward to it...but I cancelled it 3 times already.
ReplyDeleteI have to go or they will catch on to me..; ))). Swine flu has died down so I can not keep having symptoms.
I am so jelaous you went to Hobby Lobby, that is my FAVORITE place to go.
Take care of yourself.
Mirjana
Jayme, I am glad it's over for you and that you came through it all. I am so glad and grateful for modern dentistry. That and indoor plumbing, clean water, cars, and the internet. We are blessed to have such wonderful things in our lives!
ReplyDeleteJamie in IL
OH me oh my! I went to school with "Lou-ee" And his brother Mike and sister Anne!! Small lil old world. LOVE the Bozo nose pic!! Sending you gentle little sisterly kiss on your cheek!
ReplyDeleteI am very proud of you! I have been a dental assistant for 23 years. Many a hand I have held during an injection. MANY! You are not alone. We always use the phrase, "It is better to give than receive" in our office. Cuz NONE of us like it either. :) And, the silly nose helps a lot to! Hope you are not to sore today. Have a wonderful day! :)
ReplyDeleteYOU are THE greatest, Jayme! Glad that your appointment went so well!
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! Look at you! Great job Jayme. Glad to hear it went well. It's OK to take it easy for a couple of days...I give you permission :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you survived and that modern medicine has improved root canals! My turn will be coming and I am a bigger baby than you!
ReplyDeleteSheesh! Glad that went okay! You make me feel alright to go to the dentist. I have this feeling I'm going to need my wisdom teeth out soon and the dentist is the scariest place for me! (I spent a lot of childhood time at the orthodontist!)
ReplyDeletePrayers and blankie - how could it go wrong!! Congrats for getting it done and over!
ReplyDeleteI love that you brought your blankie to the dentist! I am deathly afraid of the dentist. Now maybe I can muster up the courage to go take care of some issues that I am currently ignoring. THANK YOU for commenting on my blog. It totally made my day. I was afraid to post that and you made me feel so much better. I really appreciate it and somehow it made you even more real to me. Like if I was nearby we would go to town and pick up chickens togehter or something!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are getting some relief. I'm sure you'll be glad when all is over. Thank God for Dentists!
ReplyDeleteMaureen
Glad you are back to yourself. Spent this week reading some of your past posts. I can't believe you knitted on straight pins! I can't even knit on standard knitting needles! The doll house is coming along. Thanks for the sharing The Spice House.
ReplyDeleteDeborah
Yay, Jayme! I'm proud of you. I freak during a routine cleaning. Don't like anyone that much in my bubble. I've never had nitrous, though, and I'm sure that helps a bunch! And you look very cute in your bib.
ReplyDeleteI need to know this: Exactly how did the conversation with Dr. Lou about the picture go down? I need to know exactly. Like, a transcript.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you survived! Did you try my trick?
Jayme - So glad the dentist visit went well. Great idea about bringing the blankie. Nitrous has the opposite effect on my daughter and I, so it's good you can benefit from it. Looking forward to seeing more doll house pictures.
ReplyDeleteYour dentist is one sweet guy to agree with a picture! Hope you're feeling better today!
ReplyDeleteYey! Happy the ordeal is (almost) over, good to have you back!
ReplyDeleteBet your flock missed your smile, too ;-)
Horray another gal who freaks at dental needles.. Glad you are better and Have a good Dentist. I am the biggest chicken in the dentist chair!
ReplyDeleteOh you are some inspiration for me. I have a dental appt on the 26th of this month and needles are involved. I am now brave enough to bring a comfort item with me. Thanks Jayme. Glad you're almost back to yourself. BTW. The doll house is adorable. Can I hire you to come decorate my house?
ReplyDeleteDonna.
Good thing over and done with. Good on you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings Gail

ReplyDeleteand look at her cutie-pie doll house complete with Valentine decor...
I think I have a crush. How adorable are Dr. Lou's dimples? I'm so happy that you are on the road to recovery. It sounds like you got more done in a week of feeling badly than most normal people get done in a good week!
ReplyDeleteJen
P.S. Thanks for the spice link! I can't wait to try it.
i got queasy just looking at the photo ----- oh, i dislike dentist visits, so a root canal would send me over the edge! :()
ReplyDeletehowever, you survived and even wore a smile. you're a brave, brave woman. i bow to you.

ReplyDeleteI don't mind the dentist visits, I just hate the noise though of the drill. It also not fun to leave with a mouth that doesn't work and you worry about the slobber leaks.
ReplyDeletesorry that sounds gross doesn't it!
Glad it is all over and you have such a great dentist! Take care!
ReplyDeleteOK . . . wondering how you are. It's been a couple days!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got that tooth taken care of Jayme! XOXO
ReplyDeleteHi Jayme, I feel your pain. Had my first root canal about a year ago and I was wreck. Also, wanted to let you know I just stumbled across your blog and I am certain we were cut from the same cloth. Enjoyed reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteTammy
Hope you are feeling good and off treating yourself to a vacation as a reward. Be well!
ReplyDeleteI'm making your black bean recipe. Smells really good!
I'm a new follower..I love your blog and can't wait when I have time to read some old posts. I lived in Indiana and miss it very much....I have 4 veneers on the front of my teeth and my fear of the dentist is he won't be able to replace them if they fall out and I'll be stuck with shaved down rat looking teeth!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed this post of yours. So sorry. I have been thinking about you and how it went at the dentist.
ReplyDelete****Your dentist look so nice. And, his dimples.
****I love your hair-do.
****Isn't the gas~whatever it is called~wonderful stuff.
****I take my favorite CD and my dentist supplies the player and I am off into my own wonderful world.
Hope you had a nice weekend.
