It's 4:22 am and I'm up - been up for an hour thanks to menopause and poison ivy. This is the worst I've had it - it's next to my eyes, my mouth, my forearms and ankles are covered.
I have no pity on myself, nor should you - I knew full well what I was getting into.
Apparently stubbornness is not preventative medicine when it comes to poison ivy.
In a vain attempt to get some relief from the oozing blisters, I went to a tanning bed yesterday - I have no idea where I got that cockamamie idea - but now I have bulb burned buttocks to boot.
Onward....
It's funny how some things from movies just stick with you.
M'car - m'car from 'It's a Wonderful Life' does that to me.
George Bailey, after meeting Clarence and 'never being born', asks the old guy in Pottersfield where his car is that smashed into the tree -
"You know...m'car, m'car".
I thought I'd show you my new wheels. The Jaymemobile as my cousin Jim calls it.
Glenco just smiles at me and shakes his head.
Glenco just smiles at me and shakes his head.
Without further adieu - here are my new wheels.
It's the first car I've ever owned from this decade.
I don't think this vehicle would be good for any surveillance type of work.
: -)

Jayme. Your car is so fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! Where did you get the darling bumper stickers? Angela
ReplyDeleteI love your little hospitable touches! The stickers are perfection. I would just want to drive around town, grooving to the beat of my own drummer. Hey! You need to get "The Chicken Dance" song to play with your windows rolled down! You know it, dontcha? My kids and I dance to that song quite a bit! Your new ride makes me smile :)
ReplyDeleteOnly you would put throw pillows in the backseat of your car. You are hot diggity awesome. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen the inside of a car so professionally decorated!! You've done one E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T job!! Hope for a chance to see you on the highways and bi-ways one day!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's sew you!!! It's sew Happy. . . pillows in the backseat ya killin me. . . just an fyi, curtains on the window would be a hazard, just sayin. . . cause I know your brain went there. . . honestly, when I read you were pulling the last of the poison ivy, I'm thinking there is a sadistic side of you we don't know about. . . now the first thing I would do when I have poison Ivy is go to the tanning bed :::bangingheadonwall:::: ya killin me girlie.. . feel better xoxo
ReplyDeleteCute wheels!
ReplyDeleteAnd go to the doctor on that poison ivy. Ow, ow, ow. That just sounds miserable!
Well that's just the most adorable thing. And I know another car you would be crazy over... I shall look for a pic.
ReplyDeletePhels Naptha Soap. Get yourself some. Whenever you come in from being thick headed and ivy-defiant in the gardens and weeds, wash yourself with that stuff, it pulls the oils off you before they set in. They say to wash yourself with it before you go out there too.
Love, love, love LOVE the car!!! So happy and cheery you can't help but smile.......just the way you always make us feel.......thanks for sharing....:))))))
ReplyDeleteNice wheels! That's exactly what I would drive, including the "decor", but my husband would die from embarrassment. Enjoy the ride!
ReplyDeleteTwo words :: Road Trip!!!
ReplyDelete***
I asked my six year old this morning what a Chicken's favorite game was. (the real answer is Duck, Duck, Goose) and he said "CHICKERS"... instead of Checkers. I thought that was pretty cute.
But your Car!! Now... that is awesome! Love those feathers instead of the Fleurs..
Gotta get me a Chicken Crazy decal too!
ReplyDeleteZanfel....get it...use it....love it.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...what a fun car!! love all your customizing. :)
ReplyDeleteAs I read and then scrolled down to see the picture, I laughed out loud.....this car is just so YOU. It's perfect! And now you MUST name her. She's such a HAPPY car.....you smile the minute you see her. Much like her owner I might add. Be safe in her. xo
ReplyDeletePILLOWS!!!!! I'll nap. You drive. Let's go, and please wake me when we get there. :)
ReplyDeleteJayme, I have exactly the same car!!!
ReplyDeleteMine has the 'Herbie' decals but in black.
Fab little cars aren't they, enjoy! :D x
You absolutely rock the cosmos. Even with burned buns and blisters. I loves ya.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so jealous, not of the poison ivy mind you but your new wheels. That is the only car I have ever wanted and the only car my husband has ever said no to.
ReplyDeleteLove love love it!!! What is the cars name? All fab cars need a name.
You have a "squirrel" and a yellow bug??? Blessed woman, yes you are! I've always wanted a yellow buy, or a red convertible with a black top so I could name her "ladybug"...I know, very original!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the first part of the post...darn, schmarn!
You have such a gift for making even a car homey!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!
If it wasn't for that lovely bundle of yellow joy I would suggest that you go back to bed and pull the covers over your head. Great gift, I want one. I have had a VW for years and it's time to check looking something new.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and Enjoy. Kathy
UGH! I had a Super beetle back in the day. It was metallic blue with a sunroof and my Sister in Law had the apple green one. So FUN to drive. A 70s thing......so miss it. Your ride is just too stinking cute. I agree with Jennifer. You need maybe to have Glenco (cause he's so handy), hook you up with a button/horn that would play a short blurp maybe of the The Chicken Dance song? That would finish off all your adorable touches. I can see it now, when Aaron comes home, he will be offering to run all kinds of errands for you. I'm "yellow" with envy here girl! Jayme, really Poison Ivy? Oh, you are having too many Coop Calamity Moments girl! Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteDebra
Your car - and the decorations - makes me happy. It is so bright and cheerful. Good job. Barbara
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you crack me up! But VERY cool ride!
ReplyDeleteChris in Canada
Cute, cute car. Especially love the pillows in the backseat.
ReplyDeleteAs for the poison ivy: ick. I can't even imagine... I go nuts with just a mosquito bite... just one.
Find relief and then go for a cruise...
Pam (Colorado)
This is tooooooo cute~!~ I Love bugs and have had some humdinger of fun in them back in my hippy daze... I am glad to see they brought the bug back. The only thing was you could not get much in the trunk which was in the front of the car way back when. And they did not have AC, I see yours looks like it does. Give that sweet ride a name and hey!!! will it haul the Squirrel?
ReplyDeleteThe car looks great, I love how it smells like crayons. It's a great car and great on gas, can't wait to see you in it, well us in it. lol
ReplyDeleteI love your VDub ~ such a happy car! I drive a Beetle as well (Miss Daisy), and she does smell like crayons. Why is that?
ReplyDeleteVDub bugs are so cool!!! I've had mine for 7 years, no problems at all and great gas mileage:) They absolutely are happy cars, and other owners always wave or do the VW wave. Enjoy, and take care of that poison ivy:)
ReplyDeleteThis car is soooooooo cute! I test drove a cream colored bettle that was also a convertible. I really wanted that car but it was not practical for my husband to fit into. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your bug! And another sisterness between you n me: I have buttons on the underside of my sun visor! And I have all of my liberal community, Obama, (my son made me remove my Hillary sticker)(um, mom, did you notice she lost?), hiking, women in the outdoors, boundary waters, grand canyon, beer and beer(even though I'm more of a wine girl) bumper stickers. People say "why do you have all of those bumper stickers?" First of all, I am loud and proud...secondly, my secret is they are holding the bumper onto the 2003. ha. love, Cheryl
