Someone told me to mix half and half the borax and washing soda and after a while the clothes were pretty dingy, so I added in some tide. Using 1/3 each is still a great bargain, but I'm going to try this and see how it goes.Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18363454960621009448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1220470666707560125.post-7298008502381218262011-11-17T15:33:30.885-06:002011-11-17T15:33:30.885-06:00Love the videos. I purchased all the ingredients over a ...Hi Jayme! I purchased all the ingredients over a year ago, but have yet to make the detergent. I am hesitant to try it because I have a front loading HE washer and sensitive skin. Even some of the "hypoallergenic" detergents make me break out in hives.<br /><br />BTW: I do not understand the calculations provided. You made 2 gallons and use half a cup per load, which would yield 64 loads I believe (4 cups/qt; 4 qts/gal). You used half a Fels bar, which would be $.60. Using her other cost calculations, 64 loads would be .60 + .49 +.24 = $1.33 or approx. .02/load. 400 loads would be approx $8.31. Either way, that is still way cheaper than the Tide I use.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1220470666707560125.post-86843598531258624572011-11-14T22:13:59.040-06:002011-11-14T22:13:59.040-06:00And of course I echo Janie Fox, seeing you just ma...And of course I echo Janie Fox, seeing you just makes me miss you even more! ..waah.
